HomeEnergyCost

Privacy policy

Last updated 20 August 2026

HomeEnergyCost is a set of energy cost calculators. This page explains what happens to information when you use them.

What we collect

We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, address, email, or phone number. There is nothing to sign up for.

When you use a calculator you may enter a ZIP code and details about your home, such as heating equipment or system size. These are used to produce the estimate shown on the page. We do not store them against any identifier that could be traced back to you, and we do not sell them.

What is collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical information when a page is served — IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. This is used to operate and secure the site.

Cookies and advertising

We may use third-party advertising, including Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Your choice

Advertising and analytics cookies are set to deniedbefore anything else on the page runs, and stay that way unless you accept. Declining is a single click and costs you nothing — the calculators work identically either way.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie choices link at the bottom of every page. It clears what you chose and asks again.

Where the data comes from

Energy prices come from the US Energy Information Administration. Solar production estimates come from NREL’s PVWatts. ZIP code locations come from the US Census Bureau. These are public data sources, and querying them does not involve sending them anything about you.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes
