If you are reporting a number that looks wrong, the page you saw it on and the ZIP code or state you entered will get to an answer much faster. Prices are stored per state and refreshed monthly, so knowing which state and roughly when you looked usually identifies the problem straight away.

What we cannot help with

• We cannot quote you for equipment or installation. We are not a contractor and have no commercial relationship with any.
• We cannot advise on your specific home. The calculators do not know your insulation, ductwork, or local labour rates.
• We cannot look up your account with your utility. We hold no information about you — see the privacy policy.

Data corrections

Energy prices come from the US Energy Information Administration and are republished here unchanged. If a figure is wrong at source it will be wrong here too, and the fix has to happen at EIA — but tell us anyway, so we can check it is not our own error.
